Other PFIS Courses:
The course of training for the Multi-engine instructor rating comprises:-
A minimum of 5 hours flight training and 10 hours theoretical training.
Before being permitted to begin an approved course of training for a Multi-engine instructor rating, an applicant must have:-
Hold a valid FI (A) with Supervisory Restriction removed.
Have flown at least 500 hours flight time as pilot of aeroplanes.
Have flown at least 30 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) on the aeroplane type or class of aeroplane prior to commencing the course. It should be noted that SPIC time is not allowed towards this 30 hour requirement.
At the end of the course a skill test covering theory and a flight will be taken with a Flight Instructor Examiner (FIE). This will normally be carried out at Shoreham. Additionally PFIS will provide the candidate with an end of course certificate.
