Pooleys Instructor Training Seminars at Shoreham Airport

Renewing or Revalidating a JAR Instructor rating requires a minimum compliance with two of the following three requirements. If you are Renewing (your instructor rating has expired) then Seminar attendance and a Skill test are the only option. If you are Revalidating your rating then it has not expired and any two from the following three is an option.

Experience

Complete at least 50 hours of flight instruction on aeroplanes as FI, CRI, IRI or as Examiner during the period of validity of the rating, including at least 15 hours of flight instruction within the 12 months preceding the expiry date of the FI rating, 10 hours of this 15 hours must be instruction for an IR if the privileges to instruct for an IR are to be Revalidated

Skill test

Available through Pooleys Flying Instructor School.

If your rating has expired by less than 5 years then you will need to Renew your instructor rating by:-

1) Attending a recognised Instructor Training Seminar

2) Pass a FI (A) proficiency check within 12 months preceding the expiry of the FI rating

If your rating has expired by more than 5 years then you will need to Renew your instructor rating by:-

1) Attending a recognised Instructor Training Seminar

2) Pass a FI (A) proficiency check with an FIE (Flight Instructor Examiner)

Note:

The difference between Renewing your rating within less than 5 years and more than 5 years is that you will need to pay the CAA for re-issuing your instructor rating if the period of expiration is greater than 5 years..
